The transformation of Blick Chicago on Randolph Street in the heart of the Theater District is a blend of history and modernity. Housed in a 1934 building with roots dating back to the Chicago World Fair, this 9,000 square feet, two-story store pays homage to its past while embracing contemporary design elements. We restored the building's original charm by painting the facade in its authentic colors and enhancing the wood details to bring back their former glory. Overcoming obstacles such as the removal of a non-ADA accessible mezzanine, adhering to new sign constraints, and upgrading the HVAC system, we successfully revitalized this iconic structure. A standout feature of the store is the mural by Chicago artist Mauricio Ramirez, adding a unique artistic touch to the space. Additionally, the hand-painted signage both inside and outside by Right Way Signs further enhances the store's character and adds a playful element to the overall design.
